HP L2208w monitor

I'm using an HP L2208w VGA monitor as second display for my Dell XPS running Win11. For over a year it has worked quite well at 1680x1050 and 100%, which is its recommended resolution. But now it is using a resolution that doesn't quite fit the screen and I find difficult to read.

When I connect it, the splash screen says Current: 1280x768; Recommended: 1680x1050. But in Windows Settings > System > Display > Display Resolution: 1024x768.

The drop down for that setting only shows 1024x768 (recommended) and 800x600. I can't manually adjust back to 1680x1050. And I can't remember how I originally set it to that, but it was a good setting.

Any ideas?

- Jeff

Hmm. 98 views and no ideas. At this point I retract the question. I got an AOC monitor for $90. It's low end, but serves my purposes. It's 24" and 1680x1050. Fits quite nicely on the wall mount and in the tight space I had for the old HP. It's all good.
