I wanted to add an extended monitor to my system. I run a monitor off of the HDMI port. I plugged a new monitor into the Display Port, but I could not get the computer to recognize it. I plugged the monitor into a Plugable adapter (USB to Display Port), and it worked fine. I borrowed the Plugable to see if it would work, but I do not want to buy one.  How can I get the display port on the computer to work?

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

This could very well be a design limitation of the PC.

Try plugging in ONLY the montor to the display port to see if that works.

If it does, there is nothing wrong with the port and thus, using both the HDMI port and display port are not supported on this PC.

I have a PC that has both HDMI and DVI ports -- and I can not use both at the same time.

Good Luck
