Left my computer on the charger over night, woke up to the screen being black and the power light coming on for a few seconds then going dark over and over.

Hi @Johnson465,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that after leaving the computer connected to the charger overnight, the screen remained black and the power light repeatedly turns on for a few seconds and then goes off.

Please try the following:

Perform a power reset

  • Disconnect the AC adapter.
  • Disconnect all external devices.
  • Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter and try turning the computer on.

Try BIOS recovery

  • Connect the original HP AC adapter.
  • With the computer powered off, press and hold Windows + B.
  • While holding the keys, press the Power button for 2–3 seconds, then release the Power button while continuing to hold Windows + B.
  • Check whether an HP BIOS Recovery screen appears.

If there is still no display and the power light continues cycling, please provide the exact HP model/product number and let us know whether you hear any beeps or see any blinking LED pattern.

This will help determine whether the issue is related to power, BIOS recovery, or a hardware problem.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
