Hi All,
The Desktop details are below
So to summarise.
1. There is a dedicated graphics card (R7 450) with HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort connectors.
2. The Desktop Motherboard has 2 outputs too... HDMI and VGA which seems to be disabled/blocked when it was purchased.
Questions :
1. Why is BIOS not configurable to choose graphics card (Onboard & Dedicated)?
2. If the dedicated graphic card fails, Is the system smart enough to use Motherboard Graphics outputs (VGA & HDMI)?
Issue:
Wanted to connect 3 displays to the Desktop (2 - AOC 21.5" (1920 x 1080)) and (1 - Asus 18.5" (1368 x 768))
Connected them to dedicated graphics card via
1. DVI to VGA connector cable
2. HDMI
3. Display Port to VGA Cable.
When then Asus monitor has connected the windows asked me to remove it, don't know why but it seems to be the display resolution, but after few moments the dedicated graphics card on the desktop stopped working?
Then had to unblock/remove the caps of the connectors back of the Motherboard to connect the displays. And it seems to be working now on Onboard Motherboard graphics.
So Is the dedicated graphics card gone bad or some flip of the switch occurred in the BIOS?
Previously AMD Radeon system information use to say it had DDR5 2GB Memory and now it says 512MB is available?
Didn't gain much from HP Chat Support, if anyone has same the PC, kindly upload this settings page for comparison
Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks.

Today after no responses on the forum, made a trial again.
* Shutdown PC.
* Removed the Graphics card.
* Switch ON and OFF the desktop again.
* Installed the graphics card again.
* Turn back on.
And the graphics card gets detected, but it has lost the display functionality from the ports of the Motherboard now. (HDMI and VGA)...
So is there a way to use both Motherboard (AMD A12) and Graphic card ports (R7 450)?

Hello, @VK83 - Hope you are well 🙂
Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!
I understand that you are having issues while connecting 3 monitors to your HP Pavilion. First off, only one graphic card will be working at any given time. Either the dedicated graphic card or the integrated graphic card. It is so by the design. It’s something like connecting your PC to your network using either Ethernet or Wireless. Both won’t work at the same time.
That said, I checked your dedicated graphics card and found that this has 3 ports to connect the display monitors. Check the fig below:
The top port is the display port, the middle one is HDMI and the bottom one is DVI. You can connect the monitors to these ports to try and connect them at the same time. Make sure that the monitors that you are trying to connect are compatible with the ports.
Check http://hp.care/2oEECV0 for detailed steps.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂

Thanks for the reply.
It's clear that only one graphics card can be used at once, either the onboard or dedicated. I don't know whether the design could be corrected here with a software fix?
Coming to next topic of connecting 3 displays to the dedicated graphics card, the question is, will the dedicated graphics card support 3 monitors all together?
Already tried that and it seems, the 3rd monitor which was of different resolution stopped the dedicated graphics working.
Please note the following
2 x AOC (1920 x 1080)
1 x Asus (1366 x 768)

Hello, @VK83
Thanks for the reply!
Now, to answer your questions:
1) No, only one graphics card can be used at once. There is no software fix because it is so by the design.
2) Yes, your graphic card can support 3 monitors at once. Check "Video graphics" properties here: https://support.hp.com/th-en/document/c05444427
To further isolate the issue, I would suggest you connect one AOC monitor and one Asus monitor to the PC. Check whether the PC is working with 2 monitors. If it is working, try to lower the resolution on Asus and then try connecting the monitor.
Or try connecting a different monitor on the PC and check.
Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!
Cheers 🙂

How is there no work around for this problem? On other computers you are able to enable both to be functioning at the same time in the BIOS.
So simply put we either need a new graphics card that can handle 3 monitors or we need a new computer?
It seems to me that there should be some sort of software patch to enable running the graphics card and off the motherboard as well. This problem isn't in fact like having an ethernet connection and a wireless one.
How can the computer not "multitask" in the sense of different monitors using different graphics ?
