Hello. I am trying to correct the display (well, everything) on my HP all-in-one desktop system.
When I purchased my desktop and set it up, I chose a higher resolution (of course, thinking a higher res. would be better, right! 😂🫣.) However, after reading more about the feature, I am wrong.
Question: I am in settings. I see where I can choose a down button and △ resolution (is it that easy?). What should I △do, too?
Currently, it is set to 1920 x 1080
I appreciate any help you can provide. I have trepidation b/c, at 52, I don't want to mess my computer up.
Thank you again.

Hi @Jkcain01,
Hey Julie! No worries, we’re not about to send your PC into the digital abyss. Adjusting your display settings is easier than parallel parking (well, for most people!). Let’s fine-tune that resolution so everything looks crisp without turning your screen into a pixelated mess.
How to Adjust the Resolution
- Go to Settings → Click System → Select Display
- Scroll down to Display Resolution
- Click the drop-down menu and select a lower resolution
- If 1920 x 1080 is too small, try 1600 x 900 or 1366 x 768 for larger text/icons
- Click Apply → If you like it, select Keep changes
- If it looks worse or you want to go back, select Revert (it resets in 15 seconds if you do nothing)
Other Display Adjustments (Optional)
✔ Change Scaling:
- Below "Display Resolution," find Scale & Layout
- If text is too small, set it to 125% or 150% for better readability
✔ Adjust Brightness: If your screen feels too harsh, you can lower it
✔ Enable Night Light: Helps reduce blue light strain on your eyes
Hope this helps you see your screen in all its glory! If things still look wonky or you just want a second opinion, I’m here, just give me a shout!
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
