Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06113491
It has
- PCIe x16 socket: 1 (for video card)
- PCIe x4 socket: 1
- PCIe x1 socket: 2
- M.2 slot for WLAN: 1
- M.2 slot for SSD: 1
Probably you did select video card when ordering your machine,
- No Graphics card
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (8 GB GDDR5X dedicated)
and you did not order higher wattage PSU
- 310 W, 90% efficiency
- 400 W, 92% efficiency
- 500 W, 90% efficiency
The best option now is to add a video card (n red) to your machine, you need higher wattage PSU (in red) as above.
Regards.

hi
@hpbyb wrote:Can I install a dedicated Graphics card for Video editing? Is there a slot. Any recommendations?
You may not need the most powerful graphics card out there.. but you should define, what exactly you are doing.. what is the hardware recommendation, of the software(s) you are using!

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I want to do video editing of my old Super 8 movies and Tapes which were digitized. My current system was unable to handle the GB data well (I used Luxea 6 Video editor from ACDSee). ACDSee suggested to upgrade the video card. Banhien made a nice recommendation, listed in this forum. Thanks again.

Thank you for your interest. In response to your question, the company ACDSee recommended at least 3 GB on the video card. I have noticed that the Video card recommended by Banhien is only available in “used” condition and still costing about $5-600. However, no one can tell how much (ab)use this card has undergone. I would prefer to be able to buy a new one for this price.
Thanks again. E

Sorry @hpbyb
i had not answered , because you seemed to have approved the proposal
I had looked then, but there was no particular recommendation for the model of the card, it was quite basic
I just thought, after that, you don't necessarily need a video card as powerful as the one indicated!
Unfortunately, once they decide to move on, it becomes virtually impossible to find some new models.
Newer models may work, but also come at a cost
If you didn't have a graphics card at all, try to find someone who can lend you one, just to see what happens.
Anyway, you must check, if your power supply is not powerful, you will not be able to install a powerful graphics card!

just this
https://www.acdsee.com/fr/products/luxea-video-editor/features/
Intel® Core™ i3 or AMD Ryzen™ (2 GHz or higher)
8 GB of RAM (16 GB of RAM recommended)
DirectX 10 compatible graphics card
True color display in 1024 x 768 pixel resolution (1920 x 1080 pixel recommended)
4 GB of available hard disk space

Banhien,
Thank you for your help. The card you indicated is hard to find or only available as “used”, which offers no guarantee as no one knows how it has been used. My current graphics card is “integrated”. I would need to install a “dedicated” graphics card. How do I select one that will fit the available slot, in the assumption that a slot is available. (i have not been able to find a diagram (inside layout of the parts) of my particular HP Envy 795-0030-qd. I believe that at least 6-8 Gb of memory is desirable. If I can find one that works with my current 400 W power supply, that would be ideal. Eric
