Can somebody help me why my desktop background keeps reverting to picture from slideshow? Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Community.

 

The Background image / setting is controlled in Windows (and is controlled by Windows).

 

For example,

Change your desktop background image 

 

If you change the background, be sure you shut off the "slide show" setting.
