HP Elite Compaq 8300 SFF
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi Guys, I have an HP Elite Compaq 8300 SFF PC, running win7 Enterprise 64bit. Intel Core I7 processor. My problem is with multiple external screens. I have 2/3 screens which are connected via VGA splitter (because there are only 2 graphics outlet available, DisplayPort and VGA)and the system cannot seem to detect 2 separate screens. It displays the desktop as duplicate for both of these screens. I have searched the correct driver on here and installed it and had a look on google, but it says the only way to have 3 separate screens all together is to install a PCI graphics card to accomodate the duplicate screen. Any suggestions or a driver which can separate the 2 screens on the VGA splitter? Thanks

If the "VGA slitter" is as described, then it is doing the job it was intended to do.  A VGA splitter does just that, it splits the signal into two identical signals and sends the same signal to both screens.  Windows cannot see the other screen because, as far as it is concerned there is only one monitor connected to the VGA output.  It is typical for the splitter to send the monitor information from the screen connected to the #1 output, so that would be what Windows would report is connected to the VGA port.

There are ways to connect more than one monitor to the displayport output, see here:

If that is not feasible, then you can add the third monitor using an adapter similar to this
