I'm trying to add a second monitor and the computer can't detect it. I'm using an HDMI cable. I've made sure the drivers are updated, tried different cables and ports on the monitor. I only have one HDMI port on the desktop open. Not sure what to try next. Help please!

@plc90 -- what is the model-number of your HP computer?
What is the model-number of your monitor.
With such information, the Windows support for "dual-monitors" can be verified,
and the type of video-input ports (VGA? DVI? HDMI? DisplayPort?) on the monitor can be verified.

System Model HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1xxx
The monitor is Dell but I can't find a model number that's not written in chinese. There is a date on it: April 2017. It has 2 HDMI ports, 1 display port, and 1 mini display port. It also has several USB ports which I tried already because I have several USB ports open on my desktop but the monitor doesn't seem to recognize those ports. I only have one other open port on my desktop and that's the HDMI which I've tried using.
