Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I recently purchased the HP laptop and it does not have a C port so I bought an adapter to go to my J5 docking station since the cord for it is a C port. I have 2 LG desktop monitors as well and have HDMI cords for both and they are not being detected. It just keeps saying monitor not detected click ok and there is nowhere to be able to click ok on the monitors.  It’s just a black screen with white writing in the middle.  Is it because I am using an adapter and just need to get a new docking station that has a regular USB port to plug into my laptop?

@Kendrashedrick -- since you say that your new laptop does not have a USB-C port, your computer does not have support for connecting any high-performance device, such as directly to a monitor, or to a dock that has itself has a video-output port to your monitor.

What is the specific model of your computer?  With that information, the actual video-output ports on your laptop can be determined.

Most laptops have exactly one video-output port: VGA or DVI or HDMI or DisplayPort.

So, you should be able to simultaneously use the internal screen and ONE external monitor.
