Mine finally went away after I installed and HP update.  But I never had anyone besides the one answer reply to help me.

 I had this problem for a long time.  After extensive research what I found was a simple fix. Windows needed to updated. It was simple but did take some time. After the update I quit getting the prombt.

outstanding.  Thank you for the solution.  The portrait link to download the HP display assistant software corrected the Internet Explorer version check problem.  e.g. it prompted that I did not have IE 6.x or better installed when 11.x was running and correctly installed on my 8760w Dreamcolor machine.

 

again thanks.  This software directly from Portrait Displays (currently Display Assistant 2 v3.02 installed when all versions up to and including 2.11 revC (SP54691) from the HP ftp downloads would not install
