Hi @Rajkiran23,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Victus By HP 16.1 Inch Gaming Laptop PC's display is flashing and going black randomly, there could be several possible reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
- Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the HP website or use the HP Support Assistant to ensure you have the latest graphics drivers installed.
- Adjust Power Settings: Sometimes, power settings can affect the display. Go to your power settings and make sure your laptop isn't set to power-saving mode when you're using it for gaming.
- Check for Overheating: Overheating can lead to display problems. Make sure your laptop is adequately cooled during gaming sessions. Use a cooling pad if necessary.
- Disable Adaptive Brightness: Windows has a feature called "Adaptive Brightness" that can adjust your screen brightness automatically. Sometimes, this feature can cause flickering. To disable it, go to "Settings" > "System" > "Display" > "Change brightness automatically when lighting changes" and turn it off.
- Update BIOS: Check if there is a BIOS update available for your laptop. Sometimes, BIOS updates can fix hardware-related issues.
- Check for Malware: Run a thorough antivirus scan to rule out any malware or viruses that might be causing the issue.
- Check Display Cables: If you're using an external monitor or have your laptop connected to another display, make sure the cables are securely connected. Loose or damaged cables can cause display problems.
- Hardware Issues: If none of the above solutions work, there might be a hardware problem with your laptop's display or graphics card.
- Factory Reset (Last Resort): If nothing else works, you can try performing a factory reset on your laptop. Make sure to back up all your important data before doing this, as it will erase everything on your laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
