Microsoft Windows 11

Hi! I want to set up dual external monitors for my home office. I have two HP 24yh monitors that come with 1 VGA, 1 DVI-D, and 1 HDMI connector. However, the HP docking station comes with only 1 HDMI port and 2 DisplayPorts. I bought 2 DisplayPort-to-HDMI cables from Best Buy, but the monitors won’t recognize them. My HP laptop reacts as if it recognizes external monitors, but the monitors say, “No Signal”. I can get one monitor to work if I use a HDMI-to-HDMI cable. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

First of all: is your computer compatible with your dock. If YES, The DP to HDMI cable should work.

From the dock or directly from your machine ?

My suggestion If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable from computer,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Regards.
