HP Computer Windows 10, everything works fine,
Graphics Card is GTX 1030, with HDMI Port and Display Port.
Wanting to use multiple displays but Display Port not recognizing anything.
Found the solution on nvidia.com by a user by the name of r.bela76, A Brilliant Person who struggled with this and found the solution.
They Figured out that the "Image Sharpening Setting" on the Graphics Card somehow disables the Display Port. and you must turn this off via the Nvidia Control Panel App , which might not be installed and ready to go, After tinkering with their instructions I got it to work. So I added the between steps and putting it out in the world so others don't spend weeks and months struggling and buying needless cables and installing updates and drivers.
- go to the start panel of your computer and type "Control Panel" , when Nvidia Control Panel App shows up, choose it.
- Install and open the Nvidia Control Panel app.
- On the left window's menu options, Go to 3D Settings > "Manage 3D settings" in order to bring up the Global Settings tab on the right window.
- Image Sharpening is the 2nd line down, click on the right side. to highlight the drop down menu.
- Click on the drop down menu to open a new panel where you can choose between Off and On. My setting was set to OFF, so I switched it to On, and clicked OK.
- Plug in the Display port Cable. The Graphics card should recognize it now.
I have photos but I don't think I can add them here, but the instructions i typed up should suffice.
I hope this simple solution is all you need to do to get your device working as it is supposed to ( so much for plug n play, eh?)
