I have a MacBook Pro 2020 with Big Sur 11.4 which I am trying to connect the display monitor HP S2031. I am getting the error message "Input signal out of range". I have connected via VGA. Just wondering if the monitor is compatible with mu current MacBook? And if so, how do I fix the error. Thank you! 🙂

@pauso493 -- according to: HP s2031 Monitor - Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
and that web-page states:
1600 x 900 factory-set resolution
Supports DVI-D and VGA video input connectors
Plug and Play capability, if supported by your computer system
On-screen display (OSD) adjustments for ease of setup and screen optimization
So, unless you have used the OSD to force the monitor to some specific values, then "Plug-And-Play" support should cause your Mac to adjust itself to that video resolution.
Does your monitor work when connected to some non-Mac computer? And, does that computer show the 1600x900 resolution?
