Recently, there have been some instances where my computer would spontaneously alert me that an "HDMI input hasn't been found" (or something like that), and then it automatically goes to sleep, and I can't turn it back on. I did do some research, but I'm unsure if the solution is to either update my computer's graphics, or to get a new HDMI cable entirely. If anyone has any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to ask.

@CTWarmbrodt, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HDMI issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating it must be to have your PC suddenly display an "HDMI input hasn't been found" message and then go to sleep. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot this and get your system working smoothly again.
Check Your HDMI Cable & Connection
- Since this is an all-in-one PC with an HDMI input, the message might be showing up if the system is expecting an external source (like a gaming console or another PC) but isn’t detecting one.
- If you're not using the HDMI input, try pressing the "Input" or "Source" button (usually on the bottom edge of the display or via the OSD menu) to switch back to the main display.
Graphics Driver Update
- Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers could also cause display issues. Try updating your graphics drivers:
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Display adapters and right-click on your graphics card (Intel/NVIDIA).
- Click Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart your PC after updating.
Power & Sleep Settings
- Your PC might be going into sleep mode due to a setting. Try adjusting the sleep settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep.
- Under "When plugged in," increase the sleep timer or set it to Never (just for testing).
BIOS Update & Hardware Diagnostics
- If the issue persists, updating the BIOS and running HP's built-in hardware diagnostics can help:
- Restart your PC and press F2 repeatedly to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run a System Test to check for any hardware issues.
If none of these steps work, let me know, and we can explore further options. Also, if you’ve noticed any patterns (like the issue happening after waking from sleep or only when external devices are connected), that info would be helpful!
Looking forward to your update. 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
