Microsoft Windows 11

I just got a Victus 15L and my monitor is not detecting an output on HDMI. I've tried different monitors and cords, but it's not working. Any tips?

Hi @Human42,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Victus 15L laptop is not displaying any output on HDMI when connected to different monitors and cords, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check Display Settings: Sometimes, the display settings on the laptop might be set to extend or duplicate the display to an external monitor. Press the Windows key + P (or Fn + F4 on some laptops) to cycle through the display options and ensure it's set to "Duplicate" or "Second screen only."
  • Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can cause display issues. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can download and install the latest drivers from the HP website or using the HP Support Assistant application.
  • Inspect HDMI Port: Inspect the HDMI port on both your laptop and the monitor to ensure there are no visible damages or debris that could be obstructing the connection.
  • Try Another HDMI Port: Some laptops have multiple HDMI ports. Try connecting your monitor to a different HDMI port on your laptop to see if that resolves the issue.
  • Check BIOS Settings: In some cases, certain BIOS settings might affect external display output. Access the BIOS settings during bootup (usually by pressing F2, F10, or Del key) and ensure that the display settings are configured correctly.
  • Test with Different Devices: Test the HDMI port on your monitor with another device (such as a gaming console or another laptop) to confirm that the monitor itself is functioning properly.
  • Reset Monitor Settings: If possible, reset your monitor to its factory settings. Refer to the monitor's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP Victus 15L not outputting to HDMI.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
