I've been using my desktop HDMI out to display on my big screen TV for years. It always worked perfectly - until today.  Now the HDMI out to the big TV just shows a stripped-down non-functioning image of my desktop - WITH the correct background display photo, but WITHOUT any desktop icons, and no navigation control.  However my default monitor works fine and I can navigate anywhere as needed.  But none of that reflects back to the HDMI out and big screen.  I've done reconnects, reboots, resets, etc. but nothing changes.  Weird that it just started today, but this is a critical function I use all of the time and I need it back!  Any help is appreciated.

The problem disappeared on its own just as mysteriously as it appeared.  As long as it's working I don't really care what caused it.  I appreciate everyone taking the time to read this, think about it, and suggest solutions.
