I have an old  HP 1910 monitor

I connect a google TV w/ chromecast dev ice and the edges are not displayed.

Is there a way of turning off overscan? I don't see an option on the monitor menu

@jjj001 -- is this your monitor: HP L1910 | ▤ Full Specifications & Reviews (productz.com)

Its native resolution is 1280x1024.

Is your computer's own video-card running at that resolution?

If not, what happens when you configure your video-card to use that resolution (and then "cast" the image to the HP monitor) ?

Sorry, I think I got the wrong model. It lost the label, but I think it's actually a  TS-21M5. 1920x1080

Is your computer's video adapter set to that resolution?

IT's a google TV with google chromecast. YEs, it's set to that resolution.

@jjj001 -- do you have a different TV (or computer monitor) that has HDMI input, for the Chromecast to connect to it?  Does that TV/monitor show the "overscan" ?

I can connect the CCWGTV to another TV. That TV has an overscan option, so I can see the CCWGTV w/o problems
