Hey there!
I've been a happy owner of a HP 32 Display, wich helps me tremendously due to my poor eyesight, making everything bigger.
However since i've disconnected my old computer and hooked up a new one; i cannot get any display output from anything x86 based. No physical damage to the ports or cables. i do not have a vga capable device to test out that port with.
What works:
Raspberry Pi 3B+
Rapsberry Pi Zero 2
Macbook Pro M3
What doesn't:
Anything X86 based i've tried so far.
no playstation 4/5 or xbox series S.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Dorn96,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's unusual that your HP 32 Display is selectively not working with x86-based devices while working with others like Raspberry Pi and MacBook Pro M3. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and possibly resolve the issue:
1. Check Input Source and Cable Connection
- Input Source: Make sure the display is set to the correct input source (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) that corresponds to the connected device.
- Cable Connection: Ensure that the HDMI, DisplayPort, or other relevant cables are securely connected on both ends (monitor and device). Try using different cables to rule out any cable issues.
2. Test with Different Resolutions and Refresh Rates
- Resolution: Some monitors may have trouble displaying certain resolutions. Try setting your x86-based devices to a standard resolution like 1920x1080 (Full HD) or 2560x1440 (Quad HD).
- Refresh Rate: Ensure the refresh rate is compatible with your monitor (commonly 60Hz). You can adjust these settings in the display settings of your operating system.
3. Update Graphics Drivers
- Ensure that the graphics drivers on your x86-based devices are up to date. This can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with monitors.
4. Monitor Firmware Update
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP 32 Display. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates that resolve compatibility issues.
5. Reset Monitor Settings
- Reset the monitor to its factory settings. This option is usually available in the monitor’s on-screen menu.
6. Test on Another Monitor
- Test your x86-based devices on another monitor to ensure the problem is not with the devices themselves.
7. Use Different Ports
- If your monitor has multiple HDMI or DisplayPort inputs, try connecting your x86-based device to a different port.
8. Compatibility Check
- Some devices and monitors might have compatibility issues. Check the specifications of both the monitor and the devices to ensure they should work together without problems.
9. External Adapters
- If you’re using any adapters (e.g., HDMI to DisplayPort), make sure they are functioning correctly. Some adapters may not support all resolutions or refresh rates.
10. Disable Hardware Acceleration (for PC)
- Sometimes hardware acceleration settings can cause display issues. Try disabling hardware acceleration in the operating system or specific applications to see if it makes a difference.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
