I am trying to upgrade the video card on my HP Compaq 8200 SFF running Windows 10. The PC works perfectly with the original Radeon HD 6350 video card.
I replaced the HD 6350 with the Radeon HD 6450 1GB and as soon as the PC starts to boot up and I see the Win 10 logo, the computer completely shuts down. If I boot in Safe Mode the PC works fine (in low resolution) . BTW, this is the second HD 6450 video card that behave this way so I am sure there is nothing wrong with these cards . Any idea why the PC is shutting down with these HD 6450 and how do I fix it? THANKS.

Hi:
That is interesting. The specs for the 8200 Elite indicate the card is supported.
I have two 8200 Elite CMT's and I have installed various video cards in mine (AMD HD 6570, Nvidia GT 730) with no problems--except once.
I had the same issue as you did when I installed a Nvidia GT1030 graphics card.
The PC booted up, the monitor became active and the PC shut down.
Now this is the strange part. After about 30 seconds or so, the PC turned itself back on and the card has worked fine ever since.

It looks like my PC starts to boot and the power supply is shutting down. After a few seconds it will restart on its own and just repeat the same cycle. Again, with the HD 6350 it works perfectly.
I got the latest driver from AMD and I was hoping that it will fix the problem but no luck, exactly the same behavior. Hopefully someone here has some ideas what is going on.
