HP Display Control Critical Update Needed to use HP Display Control

Hello - 

I am receiving a message every time that I turn my computer on.  

"HP Display Control Critical Update Needed to use HP Display Control" 

Could you please verify if it is ok to click on the "Download Update" option? 

Also - I am receiving a loud alarm sound when powering up the PC and while using the PC.  The only thing that I can do to stop the alarm is to remove the power cord from the back of the unit. 

Could you please advise what can be completed to stop this alarm from sounding?

Users report that new update fails or keep showing pop even after successfull installation. Ignore or disable, Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), go to Startup tab, find "HP Display Control" or "HPDC_Service", disable it, then restart. This stops popups without losing functionality. You can check it again after sometime when newer version available.
