HP E24DG4
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I just purchased an HP E24DG4 monitor for my MacBook Air, specifically to use the built in webcam for my school. I realize that there could be difficulty in doing so but I have also heard you can use the USB ports to connect the laptop an potentially it will recognize the webcam. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Here's a few things you need to know when using an HP monitor with a Mac device: HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. •    To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. •    The monitor should operate at 60Hz.The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!

Thank you Betty. I'll just have to use it as a standard monitor....shame.

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Or you can contact a local service center for repair.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
