HP E24d G4 FHD USB-C Docking Monitor

I'm trying to source a replacement USB-C cable for my HP E24d Monitor/docking station. The original HP Spare Part number is L42425-001, however these cables are over £50 each online.

I have tried to use the following USB-C cable as an alternative but they do not seem to work for USB-C Video, only the non video services on the display

Can anyone confirm the specification I need for a replacement USB-C cable for an E24d?

Hi @rhyds1

I think that a cable only for supplying power through a USB-C port is not for video you should buy a normal USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 cable.

The cable works for The USB connected devices on the docking station (ethernet adaptor, webcam, USB Hub, power supply)), just not video. Is a specific USB-C cable required for display connections?

You should connect to the DisplayPort port of the monitor, it depends on the ports of the dock you buy. If you are going to use the USB-C port you should check in the monitor settings that it is active.

The HP E24d has a built in docking station and is specifically designed to use USB-C for the display connection via a built-in dock (hence the "d" designtation). Its worked fine for a number of months however I had to give my HP supplied USB-C cable to a colleague as theirs had been damaged.

I have ordered a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 cable to see if that fixes the issue or not
