  • I have a 2 week old MacBook Air plugged into the HP E34m display with a high quality USB-C cable
  • The display works great except there is no sound
  • I have used the monitor and cable successfully for a year or more
  • The sound on the E34m previously worked fine with my 1yr old MacBook pro and my 6 yr old Dell Precision laptop but now does not work on any of them
  • The display sound shows up in system settings as followsWherThersAWill_0-1672676410299.png
  • The sound is not muted in the app (have tried multiple apps and verified that they are working with the internal MacBook speakers)
  • The sound is not muted on the monitor and the volume is turned up (using buttons on bottom left)
  • Have tried restart on the computers
  • Have tried factory reset on the display
  • When I bring up the Audio MIDI Setup, it shows everything working (as shown below) and the volume sliders go up and down on the screen when I push the physical buttons on the displayWherThersAWill_1-1672677866443.png
  • However, there is no sound at all coming through the display
