Installed a HP Elite USB-C Dock G4 as I want to be able to swap between my desktop pc (HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-0010na) and my HP Elitebook Laptop for mouse, keyboard, video and network etc.
All works OK for the laptop but when I connect the USB-C from G4 Dock to the front USB-C of the desktop PC, all works but I get no video out from the dock to my monitor.
Can the HP Envy Desktop support video output to the DOCK via USB-C, is there a connection method that would make this work. My monitor only supports one HDMI, currently I am using DVI from Desktop to Monitor and changing input type on monitor settings each time to swap between Laptop/Desktop.
I previously had a Toshiba Dynadoc with USB-B input from either device and video was OK but found compatibility issues with the new HP laptop as I would get key repeats randomly and lockups so have solved that with the G4 doc but now have he video issue.
Any solution much appreciated.
Considering a KVM Switch but not sure on spec required to support dual screen for both pc's.
Thanks

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06540236
It only has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
Regards.
