Product: HP Envy 34 Inch Monitor
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp envy 34 inch monitor hooked up to a lenovo thinkpad laptop via HDMI cable.  I have 2 inch black space on both sides of the monitor, i.e. the picture does not fill up the monitor.  I have installed the latest windows drivers but that has not helped.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Is it the following monitor ?

If yes, it supports 21:9 ratio/format and probably your Lenovo only supports 16:9 ratio/format you can work out why.
