I cannot scale down the native ultrawide (16:9) resolution from 5120 x2160 to either 3440 x 1440 or 2560 x 1080 to improve gaming performance and maintain the ultra-wide aspect (without black bars showing on the screen), as the only 16:9 resolution in the display options is the native resolution. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi @Squirelord,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
If you're unable to scale down the resolution in the display settings, you may want to try adjusting the resolution settings within the game itself. Most modern games have their own resolution settings that you can adjust independently of the display settings.
Alternatively, you could try using third-party software to force the game to run at a lower resolution. There are several tools available that allow you to create custom resolution profiles for your display. One such tool is called CRU (Custom Resolution Utility), which allows you to create custom resolution profiles and tweak various display settings.
However, keep in mind that lowering the resolution may affect the image quality and could result in a blurry or pixelated image. Additionally, lowering the resolution may not necessarily improve gaming performance, as other factors such as the graphics settings and CPU/GPU performance may also play a role.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
