Hi @Roger209,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP M22f monitor is displaying only the wallpaper and showing a message that it cannot find input from the computer, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check the cables: Ensure that all the cables connecting your computer to the monitor are securely plugged in. Double-check both ends of the cables to ensure they are properly seated in the respective ports.
- Input source selection: Make sure that the monitor is set to the correct input source. Most monitors have multiple input options, such as HDMI, VGA, or DisplayPort. Use the monitor's menu buttons or controls to select the appropriate input source that matches the cable you are using.
- Try a different cable: If possible, try using a different cable to connect your computer to the monitor. Sometimes, cables can become faulty or develop connection issues, leading to a loss of signal.
- Check the computer's display settings: On your computer, verify that the display settings are correctly configured to output to the external monitor. In Windows, you can right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" to adjust the display configuration. Ensure that the correct monitor is selected as the primary or secondary display.
- Test with another device: If available, connect the monitor to another device, such as a laptop or a different computer, using the same cables. This will help determine if the issue lies with the monitor or the computer itself.
- Update graphics drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause display issues. Visit the HP website for your computer's graphics card and download the latest drivers. Install them and restart your computer to see if the issue is resolved.
- Reset the monitor settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the monitor settings to factory defaults. Refer to the monitor's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
