HP Mini 1104
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I need my HP Mini 1104 laptop running Windows 10 to display to an external monitor, but it cannot detect the monitor. However, if I click on the “Advanced display settings’, the correct monitor IS detected and its properties show that it is working properly, but the monitor detects “no VGA signals from your device” (VGA is the only option on the Mini). Thus, the Mini is able to connect to the monitor, but it does not send any signal. I tried to uninstall and reinstalled all adapter drivers and tried all the fixes I could find on the Web. (I have to use a 32-bit PC to run vintage software, and had no problem using my old HP Mini 2140, but, after 10 years, it pretty much wore out.)

Hi@Pogtx, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Yes, only the options to connect extenal  Display is VGA port as per the spec

The Operating system is obsolete to protect support at its end of support life.

I discovered that the only fix is to install Windows 7 (or maybe Windows 8.1).  Windows 10 does not have the driver required by the HP Mini 1104--no MS current drivers will work .  Since I do not want to switch the whole OS to Win 7, the only option is to do a dual boot of the current Win 10 Pro OS and Win 7.  I may or may not do this.
