I use "HP My display" to set my display settings . Very often after I shut down the computer for several hours and restart , it loses the brighness settings as well as the mode warm. It defaults to 100 % brighness and cool settings. It does not lose settings if I do a restart immediately . I have the latest My Display update . My drivers from Intel and Nividia are up to date. Not sure what is going on.

Thanks for keeping me posted
Please update the graphics driver from Device Manager
- Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
- Look for Display Adapters and expand the List
- Look for Graphics driver then right-click it, and select Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click the Graphics driver and select Uninstall ( check the Box that says delete the Software ). Restart your PC and run the Windows update once again
Let me know how it goes
Thanks

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I have gone through your Post and I would like to help
Please download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
The HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your computer
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook panel.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Next ensure that the Windows is up to date
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.
If the problem persists, please perform a System Restore to an earlier time before this issue started
- Select the Start button, type control panel and then choose it from the list of results.
- Search Control Panel for Recovery.
- Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
- Choose the restore point prior to the start of this issue and then select Next > Finish.
Keep me posted.
Thank you and have a great day 😊

I ran the HP support asistant and there are no updates available. Also my Windows 10 is up to date.
I believe this problem was with me all the time after I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Windows 10 through all its iterations. Currently I am on Version 1803 build 17134.285 . I have asked for help in the past for this same issue but there seems to be no good solutions .

HP assistant says I have the latest driver for the Intel HD 4600 chip. Intel website indicated no drivers avail. because HP used custom driver for this computer.
Updated the Nvidia GF730 driver. I doubt this is the issue .
Will check if the problem persists tomorrow morning. If it does I will reinstall the Intel HD 4600 driver and advise. Tks

If you find that doesn't work you can try this, I had the same issue with a desktop I received few days ago and it did have the latest NVIDIA driver. I got this from Reddit. It worked for me, but you may have to redo it after an update.
"The problem was that the color profile would reset every time I logged in (after shutdown/restart). I was able to change it back manually, but I had to do it every time I started the computer.
I fixed it by going to the Task Scheduler (search Task Scheduler in Start Menu) and going to \Microsoft\Windows\WindowsColorSystem
You should see a task called Calibration Loader. Right-click it and select Properties.
Go to the Triggers tab in this new window.
You should see two triggers here, "At Log on" and "On connection to user session"
Disable them both by clicking on them and unchecking the "Enabled" box at the bottom of the window.."
