HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p133cl (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Webcam stopped working after upgrading to Windows 10. A Windows on line tech asked me to uninstall the camera driver and the camers and now the camera does not show up in Device Mananger. I can't find a way to get HP to simply send me a download for the latest driver. HP keeps making me go round and round with their sites that do not read my camera on the laptop. Kep getting error no camera detected. I am told adding the driver will fix this (I can see the camera it is there and it used to work LOL). I have tried every reset, every usual trick to get it working. It needs a driver! HELP

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that the webcam is not working, I am glad to assist you.

You might need to uninstall the webcam driver.

  • To do this, open Device Manager > right-click on the device > select Properties > switch to Driver tab > click on the Uninstall Device button.
  • Restart your computer and then open Device Manager again and click on Action > Scan for hardware changes. (this would automatically reinstall the best drivers for it)

Once done, I suggest you install all the latest pending Windows updates as below and check if it helps.

  1. Go to “settings” and click on “update and security”.
  2. Under tab “Windows update”, click on the icon “check for updates”.
  3. Then once you find the pending updates install it and check.

I hope that helps.

After following your instructions, the camera and the driver are completely missing from Device manager. It did not no re-install and Windows updates, Scan for Hardware changes, nothing works.

What I need - the driver for the internal web cam for my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook.

My solution and question seems simple to me but I am unable to find the answer - How can I get a direct download of the driver I need? All these cute little Window fixes have been tried and tried again. It is completely missing from my laptop and needs to be re-installed please.

Where can i go to get it?

Thank you so much in advance

Your"Click Here" link does not work. I get an error code when I try to open it.

Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

  • HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
  • Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  • Click Updates in the My notebook pane
  • Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  • Updates list in HP Support Center
  • Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  • Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  • Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

  • Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Let me know how it goes.

Assistant is not helping either. I simply need the download for driver. Why is that so hard? I will buy it. The driver for my internal web camera for my computer.  HP Pavilion 15 15-p133cl (energy star) product J7L34UA       Serial [edit]
