I have had an HP Omen X 35 monitor for a few years now, and recently, the screen will randomly turn black. First it will flicker and show green and white horizontal lines for a couple seconds, then it will go black. The monitor does not turn off, the screen is still backlit and the power button displays that the monitor is on. I have tried updating all my related drivers and I have tried switching out my DisplayPort cable. I have checked a different monitor and the problem does not occur. While the monitor is displaying a black screen, I can still interact with my applications, as I can hear them make different sounds. Once this happens, the screen will not come back until I unplug the monitor, wait about 30 seconds, plug it back in, then power it up. Even if I turn it off and on again using the power button the problem persists, so far only unplugging it works. The solution is temporary, the problem continues to come back.
