Hi there,
I have a Pavilion 25bw glossy monitor and it has steadily been failing. The issue started with the screen flickering severely. sometimes pressing the white power button would temporarily fix the problem. Otherwise I would have to wait until the flickerng stopped at which point the image would stabilize. I thought this may have been a software problem, so I tried changing the settings in the Nvideo control panel software. This did nothing. I tried different video cables. This didn't seem to help much either.
Now the monitor will not power on when I press the backlit white power button, and if I remove and reinstall the power supply sometimes the white power button does not come on at all, even if the light on the back is on. When the power button does work, it shows the control panel in rbg colors and sideways, and sometimes the monitor displays gray lines from the top of the monitor to the bottom. It seems to be a problem with the motherboard of the monitor or an IC circuit. It is not a windows software problem. Can somebody please advise me on how to fix it?

Hi,
I am glad we are on the same page regarding the monitor issue being hardware related. I was not able to find a customer support phone number on the HP support website.
I think the control board has failed, or at least a component on it. Are there any spare parts or repair guides for this type of issue?
Thanks,
Orion
