Hi everyone, I have this desktop HP Pavilion HPE h8-1100, with i7 2600 and video card 550ti, I tried to replace it
with a 1050ti but I realized that the motherboard does not support it. Can anyone tell me what series of video card this desktop supports? Thanks to who helps me Enrico

Hi @Enrico69

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Any graphics card which support these slots should work -

1 PCI Express x16
3 PCI Express x1
1 PCI Express mini card x1

But you need to consider power consumption and form factor as well while upgrading.

Hope this helps!

Thx for reply @Asmita,

are you sure ? the gtx 1050 is a 16x but works on bios UEFI.
h8-1100 is equipped with an IPISB-CH2 "Chicago" motherboard (https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c02854392)
which has a Legacy bios not compatible with the gtx 1050 with which I tried. My question remains: does anyone know what series of video cards support Legacy Bios? Thanks for who will help me Enrico

@Enrico69

The BIOS available is of an older version and that might prevent the card from functioning.

The GTX 680 should work with the legacy BIOS but you'll need to upgrade the PSU.

Please note, HP does not support upgrade or downgrade of the PCs. You can do that at your own risk, the upgraded/ downgraded part will not be covered under the warranty. To know more, you may contact the Phone Support. HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link.

Thanks!
