I have a Pavilion All in One Touch that is continuously going back to splash screen and screen saver even though all the power management has been set to NEVER.  It acts like it is going to sleep when it should not

Hi @pblais,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Adjust Power Options

  • Press Windows + X and select Power Options.
    • Click on Change plan settings next to your selected power plan.
    • Click Change advanced power settings.
    • Expand the Sleep section and ensure all settings (such as Sleep after and Hibernate after) are set to Never.
    • Expand the Display section and make sure the Turn off display after setting is also set to Never.

Disable Screen Saver

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize.
  • Click on Lock screen on the left-hand side.
  • Scroll down and click on Screen saver settings.
    • In the Screen Saver Settings window, set the screen saver to None.
    • Click Apply and then OK.

Check System Updates

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click Check for updates and install any updates available.
  • Open HP Support Assistant.
  • Check for updates and install any driver updates available for your system.

Modify Registry Settings (Advanced Users)

Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry can cause serious system problems. Ensure you back up the registry before making any changes.

  • Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
    • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power.
    • Find the CsEnabled DWORD. If it exists, set its value to 0.

Perform a Power Reset

  • Power off the computer.
    • Unplug the power adapter from the computer.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
    • Plug the power adapter back in and turn on the computer.

I hope this helps.
