Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I am facing the display issues with HP Prodesk 600 G3 desktop mini with hp v214b monitor (DP to VGA). If I change with HDMI Supports monitor, it is working properly but with VGA support monitor; it's showing black screen, sometimes blinking. I tried to install Intel Graphics driver , HP v214 b monitor driver and system restored but still not resolve.

We have around 60 pcs HP Mini Desktop with HP V214b monitor. That's why, it's difficult to change HDMI Supports monitor.

Could you advise how to solve that please?

Hi @211291

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

Since the HP ProDesk 600 G3 Desktop Mini works correctly with an HDMI monitor, but the issue occurs only when using the HP V214b monitor through a DisplayPort-to-VGA connection, the issue is most likely related to the DisplayPort-to-VGA conversion path, VGA cable quality, adapter compatibility, monitor analog input, or display timing/resolution negotiation rather than Windows or the graphics driver.

Please perform the following troubleshooting steps:

Test with a Different DP-to-VGA Adapter

The DisplayPort output is digital, while the VGA input is analog. A DP-to-VGA adapter performs signal conversion, and adapter compatibility can vary significantly.

  • Test with another known-good DP-to-VGA adapter.
  • If available, test using an HP-certified or business-grade active DP-to-VGA adapter.
  • If the issue is resolved with a different adapter, replace the original adapter.

Check the VGA Cable and Connections

Inspect the entire VGA connection path.

  • Ensure the VGA connector is fully seated on the monitor.
  • Tighten both retaining screws.
  • Test with a different VGA cable.
  • Avoid VGA extension cables, couplers, or splitters.
  • Inspect the VGA pins for damage or bent pins.
  • Disconnect and reconnect the DisplayPort side of the adapter.

Note: If the display flickers or cuts out when the cable is moved slightly, the cable, adapter, or connector may be faulty.

Reset the HP V214b Monitor

  • Open the monitor's On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
  • Select Factory Reset or Reset.
  • Power off the monitor.
  • Disconnect the monitor power cord for approximately 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect power and turn the monitor back on.
  • Ensure the monitor is set to the VGA (Analog) input, if input selection is available.

Verify Display Resolution and Refresh Rate

After the monitor is detected:

  • Open Display Settings in Windows.
  • Set the resolution to the monitor's native resolution of 1920 × 1080.
  • Set the refresh rate to 60 Hz.
  • Test lower resolutions temporarily if the display continues blinking.

Check BIOS Video Settings Click Here

  • Power on the system and enter BIOS Setup (F10).
  • Load BIOS defaults.
  • Save changes and restart.
  • Test the monitor again.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I tried these all steps as you provided and tried to changed new HP v214 Monitor, Original VGA cable and New HP DP to VGA Adapter but not working. Also installed all HP Drivers using with HP Installation assistant. Still not working. I have no idea to resolve this display issues.

Hi @211291

Thank you for responding.

I understand your concern that you’ve already swapped monitors, cables, adapters, and reinstalled drivers, yet the HP ProDesk 600 G3 still shows no display. The issue is not caused by external peripherals or drivers but points to a deeper hardware or firmware fault. I would request you to contact the nearest service center for assistance, if the device is out of warranty, it may incur charges: https://support.hp.com/in-en/help/service-center

Have a good day
