Hello. My new PC only has a VGA port to connect my monitor (an HP 27"). I would say the definition of the letter is not as good as my previous PC which was connected HDMI to HDMI. Can I use any cable or adaptor to get higher definition ? Does HDMI to USB exist and conveys video in high quality ? Thanks.

Hi:
Yes, but you will need to buy a HDMI to Display port cable.
The inputs are shaped differently.
You need something like this...

I don't know how your ProDesk 600 G5 and monitor compare with the ProDesk 400 G5 I've just bought and the Samsung S32D850T monitor I'm trying to use it with. The monitor has a displayport connector but it doesn't work with the ProDesk 400. It works OK with my EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 and docking station and a ProLiant ML10 gen9 I have which only has displayport.
If I use any of the cheaper DP -> HDMI converters or cables, including ones which claim to be OK for 4K video the display only works at 1920x1080.
I tried one of these today https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00Z05JMKO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For the ProLiant I use an HP 778968-001 DP to HDMI converter and using this the DeskPro talks to the monitor at 2560x1440 which is the monitors native resolution. It doesn't work at all with any other adapter or cable I've tried.
I've tried ordering some other DP cables and an https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00H37FY8Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 adapter in the hope one of those will work properly with the DeskPro and this monitor.
The DeskPro works with displayport at 2560x1440 on my other monitor, an AOC Q3277PQU.

Just to follow up my posting from yesterday, in case anyone ever reads it.
The HP F3W43AA DisplayPort to HDMI 1.4 adaptor does work at 2560x1440 resolution. It was about half the price of the HP 778968-001 and easier to obtain.
