Hello,
I have had a HP U32 4K HDR monitor for a little over a year now.
Suddenly it just happened that when I power it on, it registers a signal and the host computer detects the monitor but all I see is a lightened blank screen.
After trying to restart I came to the realization that, the load up screen that also shows the HP logo when the monitor switches on does not show as well.
What could this be? and is it fixable?
I've always used the type-C USB connection since the HDMI always seem to not work regardless of the device connected through to it.

Hi @thisissifumwike,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP U32 4K Monitor Display Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check the Connections:
- Ensure that the USB Type-C cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the computer.
- Try using a different USB Type-C cable or port, if possible, to rule out a faulty cable or port issue.
Power Troubleshooting:
- Disconnect the monitor from power completely, wait a few minutes, and then reconnect it. This can sometimes reset any temporary issues.
- Ensure that the power source is functioning correctly and the power cable is properly connected.
Check Input Settings:
- Use the monitor's OSD (On-Screen Display) menu to ensure the input source is correctly set to USB Type-C Thunderbolt or DisplayPort, depending on your setup.
- You might need to switch between available inputs to see if the issue resolves.
Update Drivers and Firmware:
- Make sure that the display drivers on your host computer are up-to-date. You can check for updates via HP Support or your computer manufacturer's website.
- If possible, check for any firmware updates for the monitor itself.
Factory Reset:
- Use the OSD menu to perform a factory reset of the monitor settings. This can sometimes resolve issues that are related to incorrect configurations.
Test with Another Device:
- Connect the monitor to a different computer or device to see if the blank screen issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the monitor or the original host computer.
I hope this helps.
