Hi @pkm_003,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Thanks for reaching out.

This issue seems like a system board power delivery or firmware initialization issue rather than a simple driver fault.

Here are the recommended steps:

Perform a hard reset

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter.
  • Remove any discs from the disc drive.
  • Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.
  • Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.
  • With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Attempt BIOS Recovery

  • Touch + Sight: Press the Windows + B keys together while holding the power button for about 2-3 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding the keys.
  • If successful, the laptop may beep, and you will see a BIOS recovery screen.
  • Follow the prompts to recover or reset the BIOS.
  • You may also refer to this document.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Boot into diagnostics (Esc > F2) and test display, memory, and system board.
  • This helps confirm if the flickering is hardware‑related.
  • Please refer to this link

Check external display

  • Connect via HDMI/DP during boot.
  • If the external monitor also flickers or fails, the issue is with the motherboard/firmware, not just the panel.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Followed the steps but nothing changed, and did a dig through and found that this is due to hall sensor issue and is a design fault from HP. Also, many others who own Victus and Omen 16 series, like me are affected because of this and this is a chronic issue in the model. Even after identifying the issue HP is not supporting its customers, and also they are still selling this model to other customers without solving the design fault. And they are lawsuits against HP for this in other countries.
