Hello, I have out-of-warranty HP X24ih monitor, and it has a problem, and I don’t know what’s the issue. Basically, when I plug it in, it would turn on and off all the time, it would show the computer screen for a split second, then shut off and repeat. I don’t have a warranty, I’m wondering can I still get help with it?
p.s. I’m using generic power cable from Amazon, as I don’t have the original one. Can this be a problem?

Try another HDMI cable. Could be a weak signal. Try the monitor on an xbox, DVD player or cable tv.
Possibly bad connector or HDMI cable.
Try twisting and flexing the HDMI cable. Get magnifier and light and look for defects in connector.
Could try twisting and flexing the monitor itself.
If done of the above works then tear it down and look for anything suspicious. Stains on pcboard, puffed out capacitors, etc.
