Hi Community. Anyone have trouble connecting a second monitor, where it does not recognize/bring up the second monitor? I was previously able to connect it, but now its a no go. Is this possibly related to using windows 10? Even my IT guy couldn't figure it out. Thank you in advance!

@Natlife, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Thanks for sharing the details — you're working with an HP ENVY All-in-One - 27-b014 and running Windows 10 (64-bit), and you're now facing an issue where a previously working second monitor is no longer recognized. Let's go through a set of troubleshooting steps.
Quick Checks First
Before diving into deeper solutions, ensure:
The cable and monitor are working – Try them with another device if possible.
The correct input source is selected on the second monitor.
Reconnect and Restart
Power off both the HP ENVY and the second monitor.
Reconnect the display cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C).
Power on the monitor first, then the HP ENVY.
Use Windows Display Settings
Right-click on desktop → Display settings.
Scroll down and click Detect under "Multiple Displays."
If not detected, click Advanced display settings to see if the second monitor is listed.
Device Manager Check
Press Windows + X → Device Manager.
Expand Display adapters – Look for Intel HD Graphics or NVIDIA (your model often uses Intel + NVIDIA hybrid).
Expand Monitors – Do you see one or two entries?
If there's an exclamation mark or unknown device, right-click → Update driver.
Check Display Output Mode (All-in-One Specific)
All-in-one PCs often have input/output switch options:
Check if your ENVY is in "HDMI In" mode—this would prevent HDMI Out from working.
Look for an HDMI button on the side to toggle between input and output mode.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
