I have a HP w2007 monitor and a 2015 macbook pro retina.
I connected the screen to a VGA-HDMI converter.
My macbook does 'see'/recognize the screen, but the screen does not receive any imput.
I have checked all the parts. The screen works, the VGA cable, the converter, and the HDMI port of my macbook.
But when I put them all together, nothing happens. However, if I plug this into a windows computer, it all works fine.
Since my macbook does recognize the screen but not vice versa, I think it is a HP issue.
Any advice?

Thank you for your reply. But I'm afraid it does not help. I already did all of those things.
However, I cannot access the monitor's menu since it does not react. It does react when I connect the monitor to a windows computer though. I did that once and completely reset all the monitor's settings; no result.
Do you have any advice?

HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz.The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment.
