Hello,

I have a HP Pavillion H9 1130 Phoenix. I installed a new graphics card Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 390 on it. However, monitor is not detected. Monitor shows (2: Digital Input, In Power Save Mode). I updated BIOS as well but none of ideas work. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

@Best123456, welcome to the forum.

Your problem is caused by the fact that the R9-390 requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  The BIOS can't be upgraded to UEFI.  The last cards that didn't require UEFI were the GTX 660/670's.

Some manufacturers, MSI for instance, make a card with a switch that allows it to use either UEFI or a Legacy BIOS.  You should contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your system.

Thank you for the additional information, @Best123456.

As I said in my previous post, the last cards that will work are the GTX 660/670's.  If it were me, I would choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your system.  They are the experts on their products.  I don't want to tell to buy a card and you have to pay to return it.  Some cards may work that I am not aware of.
