Hi @Ldrat1973,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To get the HDMI port on your all-in-one HP desktop computer to work, follow these steps.
Check the HDMI Cable and Port:
- Ensure that both ends of the HDMI cable are securely connected.
- Check the HDMI port on your all-in-one desktop and the connected device (monitor, TV, etc.) for any physical damage or debris.
Select the Correct HDMI Input:
- If you are connecting to an external monitor or TV, ensure it is set to the correct HDMI input. Use the input/source button on the monitor or TV remote to select the correct HDMI port.
Update Display Drivers:
- Make sure your display drivers are up to date. You can update drivers via Device Manager or download the latest drivers from the HP support website.
- Right-click on the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
- Expand the "Display adapters" section.
- Right-click on your graphics card and select "Update driver."
Change Display Settings:
- Go to your display settings to ensure that the HDMI-connected device is recognized and configured correctly.
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
- Scroll down to the "Multiple displays" section. If the HDMI-connected device is not detected, click on "Detect."
- Adjust the display settings, such as extending or duplicating the display.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Some BIOS settings might affect HDMI output. Enter the BIOS setup during startup (usually by pressing F10, ESC, or DEL) and check if there are any settings related to the HDMI port or integrated graphics that need to be enabled.
Restart Your Computer:
- Sometimes a simple restart can help the system recognize the HDMI connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
