Since your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fd0000 initially had a working touch screen but stopped responding, here are some steps to troubleshoot:

  • Press Win + X → Select Device Manager.
  • Expand Human Interface Devices.
  • Look for HID-compliant touch screen → Right-click → Enable.
  • If it’s missing, select View → Show hidden devices.

2. Uninstall & Reinstall Touch Screen Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screenUninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop—Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

3. Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot.
  • Select Hardware and Devices → Run the troubleshooter.

4. Check for Windows & HP Updates

  • Go to Settings → Windows Update → Install pending updates.
  • Visit HP’s support page to check for driver updates.

5. Perform a System Restore (If Issue Started After an Update)

  • Press Win + R, type rstrui, and press Enter.
  • Choose a restore point before the touch screen stopped working.

6. Run HP UEFI Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly → Select F2 for diagnostics.
  • Run the Touch Screen Test to check for hardware issues.
