@7Xena, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Black Screen Issue After Logging In on HP Pavilion Desktop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP Pavilion desktop monitor displays a black screen after entering your PIN, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
A hard reset can clear many issues by resetting the connections between the BIOS and the hardware.
Steps for hard reset:
- Turn off the computer.
- Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
- Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
- Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
- Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain residual power.
- Plug the AC adapter back into the computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
- Press the power button to turn on the computer.
- If a startup menu appears, use the arrow keys to select 'Start Windows Normally,' and then press the Enter key.
- After reconnecting each of the peripheral devices, run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update all device drivers.
2. Boot in Safe Mode
Booting in Safe Mode can help identify and fix issues related to driver conflicts.
Steps to boot in Safe Mode:
- Restart the computer.
- Press the F8 key repeatedly before Windows starts loading.
- Select 'Safe Mode with Networking' from the menu using the arrow keys and press Enter.
3. Reseat Cables and Connections
Improper or loose cable connections can cause display issues. Ensure all cables are securely connected to the desktop and monitor.
4. Update BIOS and Drivers
Updating BIOS and device drivers can resolve compatibility issues.
Steps to update BIOS and drivers:
- Use HP Support Assistant to check for updates.
- Manually download and install the latest BIOS and driver updates from the HP support website.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
