I have been using a single hp27mq monitor with the one HDMI port.  I recently purchased a second hp27mq to use as dual monitors and am using a VGA to HDMI adapter.  The monitor with the HDMI port has a resolution of 2560X1440.  The second monitor with the VGA to HDMI apapter results in 1920X1080 resolution.  How do I achieve 2560X1440 resoultion on both.  Will an HDMI splitter or other device work?

hi

what is the exact model of your computer, and what video output do you have exactly, just HDMI / vga?
an hdmi/vga adapter, let's say a converter, is very likely to be insufficient given that you are using a VGA port, which has absolutely nothing to do with hdmi,
If you have Nvidia graphics there is an option to force this, but it can be risky..
I have the feeling, that you may not have a graphics card, in this case, the best I think would be to install a small card which has two hdmi ports

Thank you for your comments.  My graphics card is an Intel UHD Graphics 730.  Pretty sure there is nothing I can do.  Thanks again
