My All in one has an HDMI in port. How do I connect my Ipad Air to use the screen as a monitor? I cannot find any information in the HP manuals.

Use a USB-C to HDMI adapter. Be sure to get one that has a charging port so you can keep the ipad charged while using the monitor

I changed the lead I was using and it now works so either the lead was faulty or not compatible. However now when I unplug the iPad, the screen does not return to being a monitor for the PC. I have to power off then back on - is this normal?

I am not a mac person but two of my kids are.
