HP EliteDisplay E223 21.5-inch Monitor
Microsoft Windows 11

Last year I tried updating this new monitor but the firmware update failed and kept failing as I tried to keep updating it. It was probably because I had the side usbs disabled in the osd menu but once it failed, the buttons were unresponsive but the monitor was still on and displaying normally but the menu didn't show up. Decided to restart the monitor but once I tried to turn it back on, no luck. There's no lights, doesn't turn on when I plug it in to different devices, and I've already tried many different cables and leaving it unplugged for hours before trying again. It's still under warranty but can't complete order as I didn't keep the receipt. I probably just need to replace the main board but parts are scarce for this monitor. I just need to find a way to at least get it to turn on.

@LD723 -- you could easily spend $100 on a certified computer technician to TRY to repair the screen, or invest that $100 to buy a replacement 21-inch monitor.

Did you go online to "register" the HP monitor when you purchased it?

If so, then contact HP Support, to see if they can find your electronic registration.

I've already gone through support they say they'll ship one out even though I tell them I don't have a receipt for proof of purchase as I was an idiot and got rid of it. The monitor is registered on my account

That is good to know. One "thumbs-up" for HP Support.  🙂

Forgot to mention they sent a follow up email asking for a pic of the serial and proof of purchase I have the monitors sticker on the back but no proof of purchase🙁even though the support person in the chat said I had enough info for them to ship another. I just need to figure out what board I need to replace and where I can find it since I can do it myself if that's the last resort.

I think that you will have to disassemble the monitor, and then look for part-numbers on the components.

Then, try a Google-search, using the part-number.   Maybe, you will get lucky.

Will definitely do that when I get the time I'm just shocked that the monitor was easily bricked like that lol. It was the correct firmware for my monitor only problem is I think I had the side usb's on power saving which disables them I think leading to the failure. I wish it gave me a warning to disable the power saving to enable the USB before installing the firmware update
